Only two temples this day.
Temple 59 was pretty quiet but had two things that made it stand out. First was that there was a Kukai statue that grants wishes (not unusual) but only if you shake his hand. Strangely western. Second was that as I left there was this man who gave me an odd o-settai: a towel with customiZed stitched message. He had the machine and huge stash of towels right there for it.
The Bangai temple was dedicated to a carving that Kukai once did to a tree. The carving is gone but the tree and the temple are still there. A very small temple as you can see but a testament to how seriously people feel about Kukai’s works.
