Day 12 – Temple 28

Quiet as a mouse, I wash up and pack up from temple 27 and leave before the temple opens. As I’m going down, the first henro are already coming up for the day.

With slight grudge, I get to a train station and wait for the ride that will drop me near 28. I don’t like taking the train but I don’t see another option except to wait a day and then still have to take a train later. Unlike the last train, this one has a lot more commuter traffic. Boys and girls on their way to school and others on their way to work. A nice woman traveling with her adult daughter gives me ¥500 as osettai. I thank her and give a name slip.

There’s a walk from the train station and then the trail cuts deeply into the bushes and I’m there.
