Day 11 – temple 27

With a good night’s rest, my foot had begun to feel better but not perfect so I did bus a bit again. However, this was knowing what lay ahead.

It’s very easy to visualize the distances of walking around Shikoku but as I’ve come to learn many of these temples are on hills large and small but more large than small. So, you have to add in the factor of going uphill and downhill a lot, which adds in even more time.

Temple 27 is one of those, off the main road it’s about 3.4km of mostly 40-45• slope along often twisty paths and roads. But once you are there, wow!

I got there just before closing and was able to spend the night there. They were very kind.
