This was a bit of an interesting day for contrasts. Temple 83 was the first of the day and a very quiet place in a fairly suburban neighbourhood.
Right next to it was this big bright and colourful Shinto shrine. I can’t tell you much about it other than what is in the pictures and there was an unassuming senior lady who belted out “YOUKOSO!”(welcome!) when I came through the inside gate.
After that was a long walk across Takamatsu City and then up to the plateau where temple 84 was. The plateau was also the sight of a famous battle as well. I am fuzzy on the details unfortunately but it made the whole area a park around the temple with other things like viewpoints and gardens and historical signposts. The odd building with the split roof is a museum inside the temple grounds itself dedicated to its history.
