Another smaller temple with a neat bit of history. Apparently, there used to be a statue of the Virgin Mary hidden in a corner that secret Christians used to come to pray to when Christianity had been banished from Japan. Alas, it seems to be there no more as I could not find it. When I asked, I only got confusion (which again may be my communication skills). Nowadays they feature other artifacts brought out for special occasions.
Still a very nice place.
The torii gate you see is this temple’s very small Shinto attachment. As mentioned, many temples usually do have a Shinto shrine right next to it.
