One of the nice things about living in Victoria is the well-marked Galloping Goose trail. It’s one thing to say you’ll walk 30+kms in a day but the mileposts give you a very clear idea of what that’s going to feel like as you’re doing it. It’s one thing you can do to start getting ready.
There’s always other things I’m still figuring out too. Sunday, I really didn’t want to do the practice walking but I’m glad I did. Glad because I got soaked by the rain and learned before I left just how weak my rain layer was for the trip ahead of me. And only glad because I learned that here and not on the trail.
But I woke up to a bit to a bit of inspiration on Sunday. A woman I follow on twitter is touring with her book on RUNNING the Shikoku henro trail. I didn’t even know she had a book on this as I’m sort of irregular on reading twitter posts lately. I don’t think I could ever do this but I can still take inspiration in the achievements of others too.
