This was a short day of walking as my feet were still killing me. Not as bad as the day before but still OW!
Nevertheless I still managed to get to two temples before calling it an early day. Temple 25, Shinsooji, is set on a little hill, unlike most of the area immediately around so it really stands out. I still managed to walk right by it the first time though. =:/ Surprisingly, it’s the first temple I’ve seen to focus on fishermen. I guess it’s not surprising in that there are so many fishermen in Muroto but with so many in Shikoku living close to the water, you might think there would be more.
The main hall is up a bit of a climb but the Daishi hall is right back on ground level before you leave so you have to circle round a bit here.
